Azerbaijan’s tourism potential was showcased at the "Tourism Expo Japan 2024", held in Tokyo from September 26-29.
The main goal of participation was to exchange experience and information in tourism promotion, strengthen mutual marketing efforts and communication among tourism professionals, support travel agencies, and establish new cooperation opportunities.
Visitors to the exhibition were introduced to Azerbaijan’s cultural, natural, health, and business tourism offerings, as well as the country’s wine-making traditions and gastronomy.
Representatives of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, along with local industry partners, held meetings with the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) and leading Japanese travel agencies, discussing opportunities for future collaboration.
Azerbaijan’s national stand was visited by Gursel Ismayilzada, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Japan, who explored the exhibition and was briefed on its progress.
It is noteworthy that the number of visitors from Japan to Azerbaijan increased by over 60% in the first eight months of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
